A Walk To Remember

Page 190-210

A Walk to Remember was a very realistic story. It was so realistic that I once imagined I was actually jamie. I wanted what Jamie had which was the looks, voice, intelligents and light. But realistically I knew that couldnt be me. When I found out the ending I didnt want to be her anymore but then again she did die married and happy and thats somthing that I always wanted. The only thing about her I didnt want was to not being able to have children and dieing so young but, when you win some you lose some. In other words I mean something always goes wrong but something always go right. You have the good and the bad at times in life but somtimes you got to face them. I loved the character Jamie because of her always being her self and such a lady. I would one day like to meet her but I dont think that will ever come true because its young adult fiction but once again feel so real.

Kaninda Evolves
Pg: 168-226

The main character Kaninda made a choice that had moral implications make as when he tries to make a new beginning in East London but then he realize it is almost as violent as the life he has left behind. Kaninda realize that this gang war is petty warfare, he knows it is nothing like the real thing. Kaninda finally gets the help he needs. But ironically it comes from his sworn enemy, the Yusulu boy refugee helps him to see that revenge will not bring back his dead parents and sister, and that in tribal conflict all sides are losers. Being in Kaninda's shoe's I don't believe that I would of have been able to forgive the Yusulu refugee and let him show me that revenge wouldn't bring back his parents and sister. Because my family means the world to me and I wouldn't be able to let anyone get away with the murder of my family. Would you have had forgave the Yusulu refugee for what his tribe did to your family or would you have saw where the Yusulu refugee was coming from?

Motivation of The Streets

TRUE TO THE GAME By TERRI WOODS
pg133-200

Gena
a character of spunk. Is a happy person. Her characteristics remind me of a hustler's wife on a movie or real talk "On the streets." Her motivation is the streets. Just by growing up in the projects, makes her want to be out and free to be on her own. Seh couldn't live like her grandmother. Living in some broke down projects with broken windows and shallow walls she had to get out. When she would be out with her friends she new there had to be a different way of living. She wanted luxury, but how will she get that. The streets are "talking." Drug dealer's are the ones that turn her on. When she see's a drug dealer girlfriend, she sees they are treated. Why not be like them she figures. She don't want to be like them, she wants to be better. Gena want's to be known allover. Girl's have nice looking clothes, but Gena want's better looking clothes, they have jewerly, Gena want's better jewerly. Gena was motivated to get out the broke down projects and to live in a better lifestyle. She didn't get there right away but she got there eventually. Gena had it all. The new cars, the house, the coats, the jewerly, you name it Gena got's it. Livinf like she did wasn't the way she wanted. She needed herself a "Hustler," a well being paid hustler at that. She was known as Qua's girl soon later. Being on top was her goal, and she did it. Coming to a suprise to her but she did. But why would she want someone that makes money the illegal way rather than someone that makes money the right way?

Kaninda's Revenge Pg: 125-160

Now I am kind of deep in my story and conflict is now taking place and it got me thinking whats going to happen next. Some conflicts that Kaninda is facing is that he don't want to be in Europe he wants to escape back to Africa so he can be with is tribe ( Tribe Kibu). So he can take revenge on Tribe Yusulu, the tribe that killed his parents and little sister. So competent and single minded as Kaninda is I feel that he can carry this out. Kaninda then hooks up with this gang in London, that he believes will help him get back home. Kaninda is now running with this gang doing mischief things but still feel the grief from the murder of his family so Kaninda breaks away, because he feels that doing those things are not making him a better person nor bringing him closer to home. Then a Yusulu refugee arrive at Kaninda comprehensive school, and now Kaninda knows that he must kill this boy before he leaves London. Do you think Kaninda should kill the Yusulu refugee to revenge his family death?

Little Soldier By: Bernard Ashley

Life in Africa Pg: 1-100

My Character Kaninda seems like he is a real person. It seems as if I can feel his pain and grief. I know that I can't relate to Kaninda predicament but I know others that can. Such as the children in Sierra Leone who were drugged and forced to amputate limbs of people in their own communities even their own families. Kaninda is motivated by ethnic hatred and the desire to avenge the deaths of his parents and sister. This oversimplifies the thoughts of child soldiers in Africa. Over 100,000 children in recent years have been kidnapped and forcibly enrolled into conflicts in Angola, Congo, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. They make up over half of the fighting forces in these countries. As children they are considered cheap, expendable, and easily forced into mindless obedience. Do you believe that children should be forced into war for those reasons mentioned in the passage?

A Walk To Remember

In my book A Walk To Remember there were a certain part of the story that made me think more open thoughts and also made me feel a little uncomfortable. The reason being is because the young lady Jamie whom I conclude died from having cancer. It made me uncomfortable because cancer always ran in family so now Im a little scared about my life because my grandmother just cought breast cancer not to long ago and is fighting it as hard as she can. My aunt dotors also just found a tomer in her head that hey caught a couple of weeks ago that could of start cancer if they never had found it. So I feel that this book has giving me another sign to go and get checked out for cancer and has made me ver aware of my health, life and decisions.

A Walk To Remember

In most adult fiction books it cause there characters to grow. In this case it do make both my characters to grow in a unbelieveable way. The couple experience was so special and pure that they didnt care what people said or did to there relationship they just loved one another and put each other first. It caused the young man to grow into a nice, careing sucessful gentleman from a bad, ignorant unpredictable little boy. With out her he definently went down the wrong path and most likely in jail. with out him she would jus been a young lady with no life having no fun before her time was up to leave this earth. He helped her fine the more down to earth and funnier person than the sadity, smart stock up young lady. I understood there relationship alot because what they had was special and they looked up to each other and became a couple to marriage and united as one.

A Walk To Remember

The book I am reading is called A Walk To Remember which happens to be a Young Adult Fiction book written by Ncholas Sparks. This book was basically about true love that you would never throught become real. I can relate to this book because it has to do with people my age falling in love and growing mature and learning more from being with that person. I once had a boyfriend that grew more mature from us just being together and sharing each ohters throuhts, feelings and smarts. The only difference fro this book and my life is he didnt die and we didnt get married but, theres still the future to come.

Little Soldier By: Bernard Ashley

My impressions of my book so far is that it should get interesting I have a feeling that it would be a good book. My main character Kaninda is from Lasai in Africa. His family was killed by an rival tribe the(Yusulu Tribe). He is now being held captive in London where he tries to do everything to escape so he can take revenge with the Kibu Rebels. As I read more I want to see how Kaninda revenge his family and escape. From reading so far Kaninda seems like an determenied soldier. Getting to know Kaninda will be a real test because he seems as if he's stubborn. While reading I also sense a little foreshawdowing on Kaninda joining another gang so I'm also looking forward to that.

GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY BY MARY MONROE

Do the characters seem real and believable? Can you relate to their predicaments? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know?

Pages..162-196

The character Annette seem very real and believable. The only reason y i say Annette is real and believable because she becomes so emotional when she talks about her life.Far as what her family been through and what she been through in her personal life, and how she over came it. I can't relate to annette in any way because she think shse very ugly she doesn't have any type of self confendence what so ever. She also wanted to be someone she wasn't to make friends and keep them. I have too much pride in my self and to much confendence. I personally think every one is cute in there own way. Annette is a very sweet, smart girl thats what made her looks not even matter. But she didn't see it that way. I also haven't been through the things she been through. But annette do remind me of a friend i use to have. She wanted to be just like me she did anything to get and keep my attention. She lied about the things she did the people she talked to in order to fit in. The girl also kept up alot of drama. she wanted to b center of attention for what reason I don't know. But in relatildy all she had ta do was be herself in order to fit in..
